We oversee and conduct on-site data acquisition and interpretation for offshore field programs. Our offshore staff are qualified and empowered to make critical decisions for the benefit of the client and the project. We prepare our offshore staff with the appropriate safety certifications, training, and quality-control methods.

Our offshore staff comprises the following:

  • Geologists, including specialists in shallow hazards and riserless drilling monitoring
  • Geotechnical engineers
  • Marine archaeologists
  • QC client representatives

Responsibilities of Onboard Geologists

  • Oversee geophysical data acquisition
  • Conduct on-site data interpretation and preliminary mapping
  • Verify accurate navigation and associated documentation to support project compliance
  • Verify accurate and complete documentation for all digital and physical records
  • Document and conduct final reporting of field activities
  • Participate in onboard safety meetings

Responsibilities of Riserless Drilling Monitoring Geologists

  • Observation and Detection:
    • Monitor the wellhead and valves using real-time drilling logs and ROV video feeds.
    • Correlate this data with seismic information to identify signs of geohazards, including the following:
      • Shallow-water flows
      • Gas
      • Gumbo soils
      • Oil
      • Hydrates
    • Data Integration:
      • Integrate drilling logs with seismic data.
      • Adjust time-depth conversion to update potential hazard zones’ depths.
      • Aid in early detection of geohazards and lithology changes that may impact drilling operations.
    • Communication:
      • Support effective communication among clients, ROV personnel, company staff, and third-party vendors onboard.
    • Alerts and Documentation:
    • Notify company personnel and clients of any deviations from predicted interpretations or events during connections or drilling operations.
    • Provide customized real-time update documentation, including daily reports and riserless drilling reports.
